I have just returned from a five day trip to the south of Western Australia to attend the wedding of one of my daughters and what a lovely time it was. Because they all live on the other side of the country, I don’t see my children and grandchildren as much as I would like to, so I was very happy to see them all at the wedding.
We stayed in a resort in Dunsborough, right next to the Margaret River wine area, which enjoys a very pleasant climate, perfect for weddings, not too hot and not cold. Perfect for grapes, too as there are many superb wines from this region.
Our food was excellent as well but I think the greatest pleasure in these occasions is meeting new people and catching up with those we already know. It is for me, anyway and now I know someone who lives in Tasmania! I haven’t been there yet so it will be nice to call in and say hello when I do make a trip there in the future.
I am very lucky. I like all my relatives including those who have come into my extended family through marriages and partnerships. We are all different, from different countries and cultures, but we are also all the same. We all eat, breathe and sleep; we all love, laugh and cry and I am eternally grateful that we all work together, helping each other when there is a need.
