Make Money with Affiliate Marketing – Part 1

Choosing a Good Niche
Considering how well affiliate marketing can be automated and how passive the income could be, it’s very easy to get excited.
But the bottom line is that the vast majority of people who try their hand with affiliate marketing have very little to show for the time, effort and energy they put in.

Target Customers

Where did they go wrong?

More importantly, how can you avoid the mistakes that they typically make?

IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO PICKING THE RIGHT NICHE

What is a niche market? Essentially, it is a division of a mainstream market; it is a small market that addresses that needs of a specific group of people. Analyze what you are selling or what you want to sell. It should be in an area where you have gained good knowledge. It may have a wide appeal, but you need to focus on those it appeals to most.

For example, does your product appeal to musicians? That’s a pretty wide market. Now narrow it down. Who is most likely to be interested, singers or instrumentalists? From there you might want or need to narrow it down even further. For example, your product might appeal to musicians of a certain age, or musicians who favor a certain kind of music or even a particular type of vocalist.

After narrowing it down as far as you can, think of the most appropriate keywords.

Next use a site that tracks keyword usage (just search for “Free Keyword Tool”) to see if there are plenty of users searching for that kind of information. If there are enough potential customers and the competition is low, you may have found your niche.
